Rtl Audio Center Berlin: Redefining Audio Entertainment

Evolution Design has unveiled the Rtl Audio Center Berlin, a state-of-the-art audio hub commissioned by Rtl, one of Europe's largest media broadcasters. The center, completed in January 2021, spans 2,700 square meters and is home to four radio stations: 104,6 Rtl, 105,5 Spree Radio, 93.6 Jam Fm, and Rtl Germany's Hitradio.

The design concept is inspired by the vibrant music industry and the dynamic city of Berlin, incorporating elements such as light profiles, neon lights, wall graphics, and furniture, all in Rtl trademark red. The interiors pay homage to Berlin's iconic locations, reflecting the city's gritty, hip nature and unique identity.

To create a loft-like interior, the space features finishes such as gunmetal, plywood, solid wood, glazed partition walls, perforated cladding panels, faux brick, denim-textured carpets, and custom-made graffiti-style murals. The design also integrates striking lighting solutions, including custom-made lights resembling microphones and a lighting feature that suggests sunshine filtering through treetops.

The layout of the center reflects user journeys through the space, with the reception area offering insight into the workings of a radio station. The hub, located at the heart of the audio center, encourages socialization and entertainment for employees, guests, and music stars. Office areas are strategically designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and connectivity among staff.

Evolution Design's Rtl Audio Center Berlin redefines audio entertainment, offering a technologically advanced and creatively inspiring environment that brings together the synergies of the four radio stations. The project was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence.
