Aedas unveils the 2.4km long Hyperlane Park, a revolutionary mixed-use development in Chengdu, Sichuan, China, designed to accommodate the changing societal attitudes and ideologies towards space in the wake of the Internet revolution and coronavirus.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Aedas, in collaboration with ASPECT and BPI, has designed the 2.4km long Hyperlane Park, which integrates social, retail, and creative spaces, representing the future of mixed-use development. The project is strategically located near a music conservatory campus to the North and is enveloped by residential and educational developments, fostering a harmonious blend with its community.
The design team has incorporated a musical motif through six different groups of architectural forms and facade lines, inspired by syllabic rhythms and sounds. The fluid layout of the design grants the building unity with its surrounding textures, creating a unique and harmonious urban environment.
The project transcends facade design, with the curves of the facade facing the development's neighborhood and connected by vertical metal elements, showcasing a seamless integration with the surrounding urban context.
The 2.4km long Hyperlane Park spans a gross floor area of 135,324 m² and a land area of 68907.48 m², offering a unique blend of retail, residential, and creative spaces. The main portion of the development is allocated to a variety of businesses and functions, while the creative space can be transformed into skate parks, interactive art installations, or performance spaces, enriching the public green corridor and appealing to people of all ages.
The project, which commenced in July 2020, has been designed to serve as a bridge of social contact and a flexible urban public space that reacts to people's activities, becoming an integrated growing-type urban organism.
Chengdu Hyperlane Park has been awarded the prestigious Platinum A' Design Award in 2023, recognizing its exceptional and highly innovative design that contributes to societal wellbeing and advances the boundaries of art, science, design, and technology.
