International Sports and Culture Center Unveiled by Aedas in Shenzhen

HONG KONG (CHINA) -- /ARCHITECTURE/newswire -- Jul 11, 2020

Aedas introduces a groundbreaking Vertical Sports-Culture Mix in Shenzhen, China, redefining urban sports and cultural centers with innovative design

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Aedas Redefines Urban Sports and Cultural Centers with the International Sports and Culture Center in Shenzhen

Aedas, a global architecture and design practice, has unveiled the International Sports and Culture Center in Shenzhen, China. The innovative design challenges traditional sports and culture centers by vertically stacking functions and spaces to create a new type of Vertical Sports-Culture Mix, perfectly suited for the compact urban context of Shenzhen.

The Center, designed as a landmark integrating sports, culture, and social facilities, is divided into three main parts: Office, Arena, and Multifunctional space. The column-free space with a hanging truss system provides great flexibility in spatial arrangement, catering to different spatial requirements for various venues.

Notably, the Center not only provides professional venues for competitions and exhibitions but also offers gardens and a running track for leisure activities for citizens, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle within the urban landscape.

The design was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence in redefining urban sports and cultural centers.
