Lo Fang Ming's "Life With Mountain" project integrates cultural background and ways of life in a new oriental residence
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lo Fang Ming's "Life With Mountain" project is a stunning example of a new oriental residence that seamlessly integrates the cultural background and ways of life of its residents. The project, which started in October 2018 and finished in July 2019 in Taiwan, addresses the challenge of creating a comfortable living situation with deep cultural meaning.
Despite the beautiful natural scenery of the mountain villa, the design faced challenges due to the pitched roof structure and disorderly floor allocation, which led to a fragmented layout. Lo Fang Ming's solution involved using three consecutive high and low stages to increase the visual height of the public space, smartly hiding the pillars through layout rearrangement, and integrating eastern and western cultural consciousness in life.
The project introduces the concept of visual compensation to solve the faults of the building, greatly enlarging the space dimensions and grandeur feeling. The use of materials and colors, along with the introduction of natural elements such as sunlight and plants, endows the residence with the artistry of new oriental culture. The living room features bamboo style walls, grilles, and carved Heart Sutra, presenting the Wisdom Path rich in oriental Buddhist characteristics.
Lo Fang Ming, the director of Dreamer Interior Design, is known for upholding the oriental Buddhist Inner Insight idea as the interior design motto, which values harmony and inclusion across culture, nature, and humans. He has won numerous worldwide designer awards, including the Aâ Design Award, Muse Design Award, Paris Design Award, and NDA Award.
