Shenzhen, China - Peng Xiaohua, Chen Qi, and Deng Juan have unveiled the Shenzhen Guanhu, a multi-functional street-level mass sports center, designed to revolutionize urban cultural and sports experiences. The project, located at the intersection of Renmin Road and Lanjing Road, Guanhu street, aims to provide a vibrant and dynamic space for community engagement and activities.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Shenzhen Guanhu project is a comprehensive building covering three functional blocks of grassroots public cultural services, public sports services, and sports industry management. With a total land area of 18327.1 square meters and a building area of 73695 square meters, the center is set to become a hub for cultural and sports activities in the Longhua District.
The design breaks conventional living rules, offering a cultural, artistic, and sports complex that is more than just a venue. It is envisioned as a vibrant "city" - a place for community activities, communication, learning, and leisure. The center aims to seamlessly integrate into people's lives, offering a space for citizens to engage and interact, rather than a mere architectural spectacle.
Utilizing innovative design techniques, the project employs multi-dimensional expression and new language to create a unique space rhythm. The venue's connection of large spaces reflects a rhythmic space and symbols of penetration, using lines as the auxiliary and curves as the main expression.
The project, which commenced in July 2019 and completed its interior design in December 2019, is a testament to the designers' commitment to creating spaces that resonate with the community. Peng Xiaohua, the presiding designer, has taken a "community life hall" as the theme, expressing the unique space rhythm with natural and humanistic rhyme.
The Shenzhen Guanhu project was recently honored with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2022 for its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authenticates experience and resourcefulness. The award recognizes the project for incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
