Guangming - A Fusion of Nature and City

The Guangming project, designed by Peng Xiaohua, Chen Qi, and Deng Juan, is a cultural and art center located in Guangming District, Shenzhen. With a total construction area of 140,000 square meters, it integrates a performing arts center, art gallery, library, and urban planning hall, forming a convenient living circle with the main urban centers of the Pearl River Delta.

The project's unique feature lies in its fusion of nature and city, inspired by the subtle textures and moments found in the natural world. The venue is designed to provide a comfortable and immersive experience, with a focus on cultural and artistic exchanges.

Constructed mainly with RGR materials and wood veneer, the project offers a harmonious blend of sound insulation, heat preservation, and ventilation. The art gallery features latex paint and rubber floor materials, creating a visually appealing and comfortable viewing experience.

The project, initiated in December 2019 in Longgang, Shenzhen, posed challenges in integrating natural textures into the design and ensuring the final expression met expectations. Despite these challenges, the project was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2023, recognizing its outstanding expertise and innovation.

Peng Xiaohua, the presiding designer of Shenzhen P.ONE Design Consultant Co., Ltd, led the team in creating a space that reflects the essence of design - restoring human innocence and fostering cultural exchange. The team's commitment to unity, openness, and collaboration has resulted in a remarkable cultural and art center that celebrates the beauty of nature and city life.
