"Exquisite Taste" Residential Project by Chung Yi Chun Recognized for Artistic Integration and Functional Order

"Exquisite Taste," designed by Chung Yi Chun and his team at FAYI INTERIOR Design Space Creative Co., Ltd., has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for 2025. Located in Taipei, this 240-square-meter residence stands out for its innovative approach to merging two households into a unified, open-plan home that balances artistic expression with everyday functionality. The project's core concept, "flow," is realized through seamless transitions between spaces, with an artistic paint ceiling extending to the TV wall and hidden entrances maintaining visual purity.

The design draws inspiration from boutique window displays and hotel-style planning, creating an environment where materials, light, and shadow interact to form layered, dynamic spaces. Floor-to-ceiling titanium-plated iron display cabinets, indirect lighting, and carefully selected finishes such as Italian art paint and laminate flooring contribute to a refined yet inviting atmosphere. The dining area features a striking oval stone-topped table illuminated by golden imported lighting, while a custom double arc-shaped sideboard and wine rack enhance both storage and spatial definition through thoughtful use of light and texture.

Chung Yi Chun's human-centered approach is evident in every detail, from the welcoming curved entryway-symbolizing a sense of belonging-to the integration of storage and electronic wardrobe solutions that preserve the home's aesthetic order. The project's success is rooted in close collaboration with residents to ensure their needs are met, resulting in a space that is not only visually stunning but also deeply functional. The recognition by the A' Design Award jury highlights the project's contribution to quality of life and its exemplary blend of art, science, and innovative design.
