FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Li Xiang's Zhongshuge Bookshop

Li Xiang's Zhongshuge Bookshop in Dujiangyan, China, is a stunning example of how design can integrate historical elements into a modern space. Inspired by the city's unique culture and landscape, the bookstore presents visitors with an elegant and powerful artistic landscape, expressing awe for nature and the city's history.

The design of the bookstore is highly inspired by the local landscape, with elements such as the bamboo forest and the Dujiangyan dam integrated into the space. The bookshelves, designed to resemble the magnificent dam, create a vivid and practical representation of the city's historical significance.

Using innovative techniques, such as wallpaper with book patterns and mirror ceilings, the bookstore visually expands spatial ductility, creating an open and high feeling. The bookstore can display over 80 thousand books covering 20 thousand kinds, offering a vast selection to visitors.

Visitors are greeted with gray tile-inspired bookshelves that not only build intimacy but also divide the forum area. Moving forward, visitors reach the reading space where bookshelves extend from the space to the adjacent columns, guiding their route. The literature area vividly presents the beautiful scenery of Dujiangyan dam, creating a captivating experience for visitors.

The project, finished in September 2020, is a testament to Li Xiang's ability to seamlessly blend historical and cultural elements into modern design, creating a space that is both functional and awe-inspiring.
