CHINA -- /ARCHITECTURE/newswire -- Aug 15, 2022

Li Xiang's Shenzhen Zhongshuge bookstore, a tribute to the city's history, opens in November 2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Shenzhen Zhongshuge Bookstore Design

Li Xiang's Shenzhen Zhongshuge bookstore is a groundbreaking fusion of art and commerce, paying tribute to the city's immigration history and the creators of its rich heritage. Inspired by the city's history and the public artworks of Anish Kapoor, the design integrates art with commerce, creating a space that offers a unique and immersive experience for visitors.

The design features a large window that provides an unobstructed view of the exquisite interior, offering a sensory feast for visitors and leaving a lasting impression. The centerpiece of the bookstore is a massive spiral staircase-shaped bookshelf, serving as both a functional bookshelf and a stunning art installation, symbolizing the rapid development of history.

Located in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, the 1300 sqm space is a testament to Xiang's innovative approach to interior design, seamlessly blending commerce and art to create a novel and captivating experience for consumers.
