Design Action's Vincent Li Redefines School Home Economics Room

Renowned designer Vincent Li has reimagined the traditional Home Economics Room at Hong Kong Red Swastika Society Tai Po Secondary School, creating a space that fosters inclusivity and innovation. The 1500 sq.ft oval-shaped room is designed to promote collaboration and togetherness among students, symbolizing a safe and warm environment for learning.

Li's design features a unique oval structure, representing inclusion and togetherness, with a lake blue curved ceiling to evoke a sense of peacefulness. The space is divided into different areas, including a learning area in the middle of the oval, as well as a laundry area, baking area, preparation area, and a cafe area equipped with professional-level coffee machines for students' practical development.

Through this innovative design, Li aims to address the limitations of the traditional education system, creating a user-friendly and unique environment that encourages students to build confidence, develop skills, and embrace correct values.
