Taipei City, Taiwan - Tzu-Jou Chou, the renowned interior designer, has unveiled "Shades of Ink," a captivating residential design project that reimagines space with the essence of simplicity and serenity. Inspired by Traditional Chinese Ink Painting, the project introduces a monochrome scheme with textured materials, maximizing the possibilities and flexibilities of a limited space.
The 70sq. m2 project, completed in October 2020, features sophisticated forms and monochrome colors, creating varied expressions sculptured by natural light. The design incorporates ink-black wood paneling, light gray mineral paint, and textured materials, providing a sense of serenity and depth while embracing the concept of essence in simplicity.
With a focus on maximizing space and flexibility, the project demolished unnecessary architectural walls and introduced sliding partitions to create a space with flexible boundaries. The monochrome scheme with varied tone changes and textures from different materials, such as wood paneling with wood grain and ceramic tiles with stone-like patterns, adds depth and contrast to the space.
