Studio One has received the Bronze A' Design Award 2025 in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for its project "A Moment," a residential interior in Taipei, Taiwan. The project stands out for its innovative use of a modular system, where each area is conceived as an independent cube or zone. These zones can be reconfigured based on the client's lifestyle and spatial needs, allowing the space to shift contours and functions with ease. The design blurs the boundaries between rooms, using sliding doors to create private zones within an open-plan layout, offering both flexibility and privacy.
The 80-square-meter residence features a living area, dining area, kitchen, dressing room, guest room, master bedroom, and bathroom, all unified by an open floor plan. Studio One's approach maximizes the depth and circulation of the space, while abundant natural light interacts with carefully selected materials-such as textured wood panels and mineral paint-to create dynamic visual and tactile experiences throughout the day. Storage systems are strategically placed beneath existing beams to serve as both functional dividers and solutions to structural challenges, further enhancing the sense of openness and adaptability.
"A Moment" was designed in response to the limitations of the original closed floor plan, which restricted natural light and movement. By reducing the number of rooms and reconfiguring their sizes, Studio One achieved a brighter, more fluid living environment. The project's success lies in its ability to offer a non-hindrance flow while maintaining the option to isolate spaces as needed, demonstrating a thoughtful balance between communal living and personal privacy. This award-winning design exemplifies how architectural logic, materiality, and user-centric flexibility can transform residential interiors into spaces of possibility and comfort.
