FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Renai Art Lab, a visionary project by Daisuke Nagatomo and Minnie Jan, introduces a revolutionary approach to classroom design, aiming to transform art education. The space, located in Taipei, was completed in September 2023, offering a vibrant and interactive environment for students.
The innovative design features a stage area and a teacher teaching area, encouraging active student participation and creativity. With a total area of 75 square meters, the space incorporates wood carpentry and on-site painting techniques to realize the unique vision.
The classroom's standout features include a large interactive monitor for teachers, providing a dynamic platform for presentations and creative expression. Additionally, the vibrant yellow background behind the stage serves dual purposes, offering storage space and an area for children to explore and read.
By integrating aesthetic education into the classroom planning, Renai Art Lab overcame challenges related to color choice, material selection, and spatial geometries. The design concept revolves around graceful, fluid lines that evoke movement and energy, creating a dynamic and inspiring environment for students.
Daisuke Nagatomo, a distinguished architect and educator, and Minnie Jan, along with their team member Jenny Yeh, have successfully redefined the traditional classroom space, setting new standards for educational environments. Their commitment to enhancing student exposure to high aesthetic standards has earned Renai Art Lab the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its outstanding creativity and contribution to improving quality of life.
