Oval Design Limited has unveiled the Urban Renewal Exploration Centre, a cutting-edge venue designed to communicate the urban renewal efforts and their benefits to a wide audience. The center utilizes high technology to present a real-life experience of dilapidated housing, mock-ups, and exhibitions in a clear and orderly manner. It features interactive multimedia games to engage visitors and provide a deeper understanding of urban renewal topics.
The venue is divided into two areas: the exhibition area, which features multimedia facilities and interactive games, and the activity room, providing a stage and setting for engagement activities. The center leverages smart technology, including iBeacon-enabled E-Tour Guide, Augmented Reality, and Kinect Game, to offer a hands-on urban renewal experience.
The Urban Renewal Exploration Centre covers an area of about 237 square meters, including a 204 square meters conference room. It is designed to inspire visitors to approach urban renewal issues from various perspectives and allows easy updates through digital media.
The project is a response to the challenges faced by the Urban Renewal Authority, aiming to accommodate updates, additions, or alterations to the content of the projects easily and promptly without major cost implications. The center has received positive feedback, with a high satisfaction rate among visitors and a significant impact on their understanding of urban renewal.
