Stacked Crystal Form: A Smart Factory Merging Design, Technology, and Corporate Identity for Daishinku

The Stacked Crystal Form project reimagines the traditional office and factory by integrating Daishinku's headquarters and manufacturing operations into a single, cohesive smart factory. Located in Kakogawa, Hyogo, adjacent to the company's Central Laboratory, the five-story, steel-framed building spans over 10,000 square meters and stands as a testament to the harmony of technology and design. Inspired by the thickness and angles of crystal chips, the architecture features layered rectangular volumes of varying thicknesses, visually representing Daishinku's legacy and future aspirations.

A key innovation of the design is its lighting concept, which draws from the precise angles used in crystal chip cutting-such as the 35.15-degree AT-cut and 52-degree DT-cut-to create line lighting that embodies Daishinku's technological identity. The integration of circadian rhythm-based color temperature variations further enhances intellectual productivity and well-being for employees. The building's central atrium, illuminated by a skylight, fosters openness, energy efficiency, and spontaneous interaction among workers across all floors, reinforcing a sense of community and collaboration.

Stacked Crystal Form stands out not only for its architectural symbolism but also for its commitment to sustainability and smart factory principles. Advanced production systems and energy-efficient technologies are seamlessly woven into the design, minimizing environmental impact while maximizing operational efficiency. The project's innovative approach-layering volumes to reflect the properties of quartz chips-creates a dynamic, functional, and visually striking environment that embodies Daishinku's brand and technological prowess. This achievement has been recognized with the prestigious Golden A' Design Award, celebrating its significant contribution to the fields of architecture, design, and technology.
