Situated in Jiangsu, China, this bookstore redefines the traditional retail space by drawing inspiration from the vastness of the universe and the limitless potential of human knowledge. The interior of Huai'an Zhongshuge is a striking blend of surrealism and structural precision, dominated by exaggerated three-dimensional forms that evoke celestial mechanics. Concentric rings, irregular geometric structures, and spiral bookshelves mimic astronomical instruments and planetary orbits, inviting visitors to embark on a cosmic journey through literature. The use of traditional wood in a large-scale, two-floor planetary installation demonstrates a seamless fusion of functionality and aesthetics, achieved through advanced 3D modeling and computational simulation. This approach allowed the design team to overcome significant technical challenges, ensuring both structural stability and visual impact within a limited space.
