Prashant Chauhan's latest project, "4.56," a luxury residential lobby in Mumbai's Juhu, has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award for Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design in 2025, recognized for its innovative use of white and grey tones, curated art, and advanced fabrication techniques that create a striking, light-filled entrance experience.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
"4.56," designed by acclaimed architect Prashant Chauhan of ZERO9, redefines the concept of residential lobbies with its bold embrace of the black and white era, realized through expansive white surfaces, grey flooring, and striking black art elements. Located in Mumbai's upscale Juhu neighborhood, the lobby serves as the grand entrance to luxury apartments, offering residents a seamless transition from the bustling city to a serene, art-infused environment. Completed in December 2024 after a six-month design and build process, the project stands out for its harmonious blend of form, function, and artistic expression.
The lobby's unique design leverages maximum glass to flood the space with natural daylight, enhancing the sense of openness and tranquility. White walls and a non-rectangular layout are complemented by curated artworks from various artists, with a signature installation behind the reception desk that echoes the sea waves of Juhu Beach. Residents are ushered directly to their apartments via private lifts, ensuring both exclusivity and convenience. The interplay of light, art, and minimalist color palette creates a visually light and uplifting atmosphere, setting a new benchmark for luxury interiors in urban India.
Realized using advanced CAD-CAM technology and robotic fabrication, the lobby's parametric wave forms and fluid bench design exemplify cutting-edge craftsmanship. The design team overcame the challenge of maintaining pristine white surfaces while ensuring durability and ease of maintenance. Extensive research into abstract and contemporary art informed the selection of artworks, resulting in a space that not only functions as a transitional area but also as a gallery celebrating creativity. The "4.56" lobby's recognition at the 2025 A' Design Awards underscores its contribution to elevating quality of life and setting new standards in interior design.
